Affordable Dental Care Is Here NICC's New Dental Clinic Opens In Peosta

Northeast Iowa Community College's new dental clinic in Peosta offers affordable cleanings, exams, fillings, and more.

Good news for anyone in northeast Iowa who has been putting off a trip to the dentist because of the cost: Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) has officially launched its revitalized dental clinic, and it is now accepting patients!

Located on the Peosta campus, the clinic provides high-quality, low-cost basic dental services to the public, especially those without dental insurance or who simply cannot afford private-practice prices.

All procedures are performed by NICC Dental Assisting students under the direct supervision of licensed volunteer dentists and hygienists, so you get professional care at a fraction of the usual cost.

What Services Are Available?

While the focus is on essential and preventive care, typical offerings include:

  • Dental exams and X-rays
  • Cleanings
  • Fillings
  • Sealants
  • Other basic restorative and preventive procedures

(The exact menu can vary slightly by semester, but the goal is to help you get the care you have been delaying.)

When Is The Clinic Open?

Fridays only 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.January through March 2026 (with the possibility of extending into future semesters)

Who Should Come?

  • Anyone without dental insurance
  • People who have not seen a dentist in years (no judgment here—they have seen it all!)
  • Families on a budget
  • Basically, anyone who needs affordable oral health care

The college emphasizes that the clinic is a welcoming, shame-free environment.

Dental anxiety?

They understand.

Have you not flossed since the Clinton administration?

Totally fine.

The team just wants to help you get healthier.

Why This Matters

Oral health is not just about your smile.

Untreated dental issues are linked to bigger problems like heart disease, worsening diabetes, respiratory infections, and more.

For too many people in our area, cost is the only thing standing between them and regular care.

This clinic is helping close that gap, one appointment at a time.
