Donald Trump

Hey everyone, Alex here.
If you have been doom-scrolling the news lately, you know the world feels like a powder keg right now, Ukraine burning, trade wars everywhere, and bigger storms brewing on the horizon.
I have spent years delving into global affairs, and I must be candid with you: President Trump‘s approach to these massive problems feels less like leadership and more like high-stakes gambling with the planet’s future.
He has charisma and loves to shake things up, no question.
However, when it comes to navigating through dangerous geopolitical waters, too many of his moves appear reckless, shortsighted, or chaotic.
So here it is, 10 clear, no-nonsense reasons why Trump is struggling (and often failing) to handle the world’s most significant problems.
Let us jump in.
Reason 1: Donald Trump’s “Peace Plan” For Ukraine Looks Like A Giveaway To Russia
The leaked 28-point plan basically says: Russia keeps Crimea and 20 % of Ukraine’s land, Ukraine never joins NATO, and a giant “reconstruction” fund goes mostly to American companies tied to Trump’s inner circle. Zelenskyy called it unacceptable. Most Ukrainians hate it. Putin loves it. That is not peace. That is rewarding the invader and selling out an ally.
Reason 2: Tariffs Are Punishing Friends More Than Enemies
25% on Japanese and Korean cars, extra duties on Canadian imports due to a TV ad, and a 60% threat on Chinese imports. These moves are spiking prices for everyday Americans while pushing allies away. Canada’s economy is already shrinking, Japan and South Korea are talking about their own nukes, and Europe is furious. Tariffs feel strong on TV, but they are fracturing the exact alliances we need.
Trivia Time: The U.S.-Canada border is the longest undefended border in the world, over 5,500 miles. Now we are putting tariff walls on it. Crazy, right?
Reason 3: Maximum Pressure On Iran Is Pushing Them Straight Toward A Bomb
Trump tore up the nuclear deal, hit them with sanctions, and ordered strikes. Result? Iran is now weeks away from enough material for a nuclear weapon, closer than ever before. The pressure campaign made life hard for ordinary Iranians, but it made the regime more desperate and radical, not weaker.
Reason 4: Mixed Signals On China And Taiwan Are Making War More Likely
One day, Trump brags about his “great relationship” with Xi, the next, he ships more missiles to Taiwan. China is running record military drills around the island, and allies are nervous because no one knows what America will actually do if shots are fired. Uncertainty is not deterrence; it is an invitation to miscalculate.
Reason 5: The New National Security Strategy Just Insulted All of Europe
It calls European allies “weak,” cheers far-right parties, and basically tells the continent to fend for itself. The Kremlin called it “music to our ears.” When your official strategy makes Putin happy, something has gone very wrong.
Reason 6: Family and Close Buddies Are Running Foreign Policy
Jared Kushner, Steve Witkoff, Don Jr., and other members of Mar-a-Lago are reportedly making calls regarding Ukraine, the Middle East, and Africa. The State Department is half-empty. Real experts who disagree get fired. That is not how you run a superpower.
Reason 7: Donald Trump Only Thinks In 3–6 Month “Deals,” Not 10-Year Strategies
Geopolitics is not a real-estate flip. Containing China, stopping Iran’s bomb, and keeping Russia in check take decades of steady work. Trump wants a quick photo-op “win” and then moves on. When the quick win fails, he blames everyone else.
Reason 8: Donald Trump Is Ignoring The Global South, So China Owns It
India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Nigeria, the countries that will shape the future, barely get a phone call unless Trump wants something right now. China is now the biggest trading partner for almost all of them. We are losing influence by the day.
Reason 9: His “Deterrence” Is Just Noise, Enemies Are Not Scared
Loud threats, surprise tariffs, and dramatic tweets feel strong, but Putin, Xi, and Iran keep doing whatever they want. Real deterrence is quiet, consistent, and credible. Noise just tells them the U.S. is unpredictable, which makes them bolder.
Reason 10: The World Is More Dangerous And Divided Than When He Started
Trade is fracturing, alliances are cracking, nuclear risks are rising, and trust in America is falling. Some of that is not Trump’s fault; China and Russia were always going to push. However, a significant portion of the chaos is self-inflicted by a style that treats the planet like a TV show or a portfolio to be flipped through.
Look, Trump is fantastic at winning elections and dominating U.S. domestic news cycles.
However, running the world requires patience, deep knowledge, long-term alliances, and the ability to think five moves ahead.
Right now, those qualities are in very short supply at the top.
The stakes are too high for on-the-job learning.
Thank you for reading all the way to the end; I know it was a long one.
If this helped you make sense of the madness, share it with someone who needs to see it.
Stay sharp out there.
