MacKenzie Haley, a Louisville-based illustrator, is collaborating with Dolly Parton on a new children’s book called “Billy the Kid Makes It Big.” 

The book, released in the spring of 2023, follows the adventures of a French bulldog named Billy the Kid as he travels to Nashville to pursue his dreams of becoming a star. 

Along the way, he faces challenges and learns important lessons with the help of his favorite songs, a group of supportive friends, and his hero, Dolly Parton. 

The book is being published by T2 Agency, a boutique literature, and art agency specializing in children’s books. 

It will be available for purchase on April 25, 2023.
