Sam Bankman-Fried, the founder of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, is being extradited from the Bahamas to the United States to face various criminal charges.
Bankman-Fried is accused of defrauding customers and investors, money laundering, and making illegal political campaign contributions.
He was arrested in the Bahamas about a week ago at the request of the US government and has been in FBI custody since then.
In addition, two former FTX employees, Caroline Ellison and Gary Wang have pleaded guilty to fraud in connection with the case.
They are cooperating with the investigation in the hope of receiving reduced penalties.
The US Securities and Exchange Commission is also investigating Bankman-Fried for fraud.
