Did you catch the recent game against the Colts?
Our coach, DeMeco Ryans, had quite a bit to say about it.
Let us dive into his thoughts and what we can expect from our beloved Texans in the upcoming games.
Ups and Downs in the Early Season
So, how have we seen some cool moments from the Texans in the first two games of 2023?
Well, having just “cool moments” is not enough.
Our rookie coach, Ryans, is bummed about the team only showing flashes of their true potential.
In his words, we must start playing properly in the second half.
That hit hard.
However, he has got a point. We cannot just rely on a strong second half to try and win; it has to be a full 60-minute effort.
The Colts Game: A Closer Look
Looking back at our game against the Colts, it was a roller coaster.
Our offense did show some improvement compared to the first game.
However, Ryan wanted to be happier with how the defense played.
We allowed the Colts a whopping 353 yards of total offense and let them convert 6 out of 12 third downs.
That is something we have to work on.
However, it was not all bad news. C.J. Stroud did throw some sweet touchdown passes, and Ka’imi Fairbairn kicked a nice field goal.
So, there is hope, fellow fans!
The Big Lesson: Consistency is Key
Ryans keeps stressing that the team has to play well the whole time, not just spurts.
“We cannot play catch-up ball,” he said.
Moreover, we get it; we do not want our guys rushing to catch up all the time.
It is better to take the lead and keep it.
What is Next? Hopeful Eyes on the Jaguars Game
So, what is coming up next for our Texans?
We are taking on the Jacksonville Jaguars on September 24, and it is happening at the TIAA Bank Field.
We are all holding our breath and crossing our fingers for a more consistent play, aren’t we?
DeMeco Ryans is hopeful, and he appreciates the team’s fight spirit.
