A severe winter storm, known as a bomb cyclone, has caused havoc across the United States, resulting in at least 12 deaths.
Four people were killed in a 50-car pileup crash in Ohio due to treacherous “whiteout conditions” caused by heavy winds and snow.
Three people died in weather-related crashes in Oklahoma, and another three were killed on icy roads in Kentucky.
One person died after their vehicle overturned in Missouri, and another died in Texas due to prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures.
Officials have urged people to stay in their homes if possible and for drivers to take caution on the roads with dangerous conditions due to the storm.
The victims’ identities have not been released, and the exact number of injuries is unknown.
The road remains closed in both directions and is still being investigated by police.
