Police are also investigating if the shooting is connected to another incident in a nearby suburb.

The Lunar Festival has been canceled out of caution and respect for the victims.

The festival draws over 100,000 visitors daily and includes food vendors, entertainers, and merchants.

The Lunar New Year festival began on Saturday morning and ended around 9:00 P.M. local time, more than an hour before the shooting.

The city of Los Angeles expressed condolences for the victims and their families in the wake of the tragedy.
