Stray Bullet Killing Of NYC Mom Gudelia Vallinas sparks arrest of 23 people

New York: New York City’s “most dangerous” gang members, 23 in total, have been arrested after a stray bullet killed an innocent mother of two in Queens in March 2021.

Gudelia Vallinas was shot while walking home from shopping for her family, prompting an investigation that eventually led to the 84-count indictment.

Prosecutors claimed that the death of Vallinas, a Mexican immigrant who cleaned houses for a living, was caused by an ongoing war between two gangs.

The two gangs, the “Rolling Crips” and the “True Cash Gettas,” had been feuding since 2018, resulting in multiple shootings and taunts on social media.

Those charged range in age from 21 to 40 and eighteen of the men face charges connected to shootings, with fifteen facing counts of attempted murder.

Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell promised more cases and arrests for violent criminals threatening the city.
