1 Dead, 3 Injured in Shooting at El Paso Mall

EL PASO, Texas: Shots were fired at a shopping mall in El Paso, Texas, on Wednesday, February 15, resulting in one person being killed and three others injured.

The El Paso police department said two people had been arrested, but the details of the incident remain unclear.

The mall, Cielo Vista, was still a crime scene and would remain closed until investigations were completed, according to Interim Police Chief Peter Pacillas, who said there was no more danger to the public.

The United States has seen many mass shootings this year, with dozens of people killed, including three students in Michigan and 11 people in California.

El Paso has been the site of previous shootings, with 23 people killed in a racist attack at a Walmart in 2019.

The FBI is assisting with the investigation, and Governor Greg Abbott has offered assistance from the Texas Department of Public and Safety and the Texas Division of Emergency Management.
